I get all of my news via the internet. I'm saving more by ditching all of my newspaper and magazine subscriptions and watching the news is just too depressing .

My New Address

Posted on 2009.07.07 at 00:27
Can't remember if I told you that:

I have moved out from Beggars Alley, located at 2 Poverty Lane, at the corner of Down and Out Circle. As of today, I have a brand new home.

My new address is Living Well on 231 Abundance Terrace, located at the corner of Blessings Drive and Prosperity Peak . It's in the God Can neighborhood. No longer will I allow myself to travel to the other side of town on Begging Peter to Pay Paul Route, located at a dead end intersection called I Don't Have, which connects with Borrowers Junction!

I no longer hang out at Failure's Place, near Excuses Avenue , next to Procrastination Point. I've moved to an upscale community called Higher Heights with unlimited potential and opportunities for me to succeed. I can do ALL things through CHRIST who strengthens me!

Life is good because God is good! Care to change your address? There are many vacancies!

**Something that I found on a blog that has given me encouragement.

I've been thinking a lot lately as to the direction that I want my journal post to take. Instead of using this as a forum to vent my frustrations, I've decided to use it as a medium to get my life back on track and reclaim my lost self. I'll do this by journaling my goals and the steps I take to see them come to fruition.

Some of my goals are to find fulfilling employment, transition from vegetarian to vegan sucssesfully and to be trained in tarot and other metaphysical pursuits.

Ita been too long since I last updated my journal-so much has happened.Lost a job,(lay off) got another job but lost that one too (another lay off) now I find myself working temp jobs to pay the bills. I'm grateful for any cash flow but it can be a bit discouraging not having a regular 9-5 gig.
On a higher note; I adoped the cutest little Schnoodle pup back in July. He turned is fittingly named Lucky Charm. He is quite a rascal but I know that we both have big things in store for us in 2009.

On Strike! Hollywood Writers Walk Out!

It’s been a while since I’ve last updated, but you know how it is …sometimes life gets in the way.  Well, I’m sure you all know about the big writer’s strike that’s hit Hollywood; now in its fourth day.

The Writers Guild of America (consisting of TV and film writers), are striking in protest of their ongoing dispute with the Alliance of Motion Pictures and Television.  The writers believe that they are being duped out of royalties from DVD sales and shows viewed via the internet.  They also want a share of all new media profits.

For the past four days, strikers have carried picket signs outside of Time Warner Center in hopes that their demands are met.  They have been joined by actors and actresses who are supportive of their cause and production on most scripted TV shows has been halted.

The average person fails to realize that writers are the backbone of the entertainment industry, yet they make the least amount of money.  The writer is often underpaid, struggling to make ends meet or eking out an average middleclass existence.

Good script writing is what continually draws us to the TV set to watch another episode of 24 or Ugly Betty.  Who makes up those snappy monologs on The Tonight Show and David Letterman...we can thank the writers.

I think Mark Cherry and Damon Lindelof say it best here:

Megabux-Corp. vs. writers

Let’s support our writers by signing their petition.

Last night I watched the documentary, I Trust You To Kill Me; an indie movie about emerging band, Rocco DeLuca and the Burden.  Have you heard of 'em?  Well, they're financed by the one and only Kiefer Sutherland.  It turns out that Kiefer is co-owner of Ironworks Music...along with his friend Jude Cole.

Ironworks is an independent lable, whose main goal is to bring diversity back to the music industry.  For the past few years, the charts have been over-run by Pop, Hip Hop and R&B, leaving little air play for anything else.  Lables are signing artist that target a younger demographic, but the music has no substance and often of little quality. Thanks to people like Kiefer, Jude and the artist they sign (like Rocco) the music industry is about to change.

Now, back to I Trust You To Kill Me.......

The documentary profiles Rocco DeLuca and the Burden with Kiefer Sutherland acting as their road manager, as they tour through the pubs, clubs and various joints in Euroupe, in an effort to promote the band.

I rented the movie because Kiefer Sutherland is HOT!!!  Although didn't get to see a shirtless Kiefer in all of his tattooed glory, I did find myself becoming totally engrossed in Rocco and the passion he displayed for his music.  Rocco is a singer, song writer and musician...a true artist.   Rocco DeLuca and the Burden is not mere talent, but pure genius at work.

I received a burst of inspiration mixed with a little insight, from an unlikely source..Chris Crocker.  For those not familiar with this instant celebrity I'll happily elaborate.
Chris Crocker is web actor/actress (he usuaslly performs in drag) who makes web viedos that promote not just tolerance, but acceptace of those in the gay community.  Chris often uses humor to educate and enlighten his extensive audience.
In one of Chris' videos he talks about finding or rather creating yourself saying:
"Its about creating yourself not finding yourself".

This statement really opened my eyes.  Many of us allow ourselves to be molded into a ideal that others have for us, not what we would have for ourselves..unfortunaely we conform often losing ourselves in the process.
Ryan Seacrest said, "Sometimes you have to convey something that you don't actually believe".  They both speak about creating an image of oneself.

Its about projecting what I want now before I have attained it.  I need to  walk, talk, dress, and act the part now.  Mold myself into the person I want to be and the image I want to project.
I know that my future is bright; I can see all that is laid out before me, all I have to do is grab it.

If you won $100 this afternoon, what would you do with it?

I would buy some new undies from Victoria's Secret...they're having a sale.  Bras are 2 for $40 and panties 5 for $25.  :)

Well,  yet another starlet is on her way to the slammer; this time it's Simple Life co-star Nicole Richie.  Yeah, her best friend and co-star Paris Hilton was released only a couple of weeks ago and on again off again BFF Lindsay Lohan hasn't been spared her share of troubles either.

It's amazing that all three of these friends are having to spend time in  the pokie for DUI's.  I guess they didn't learn from either of the other one's mistakes.

Lohan Off The Wagon

Just as I was beginning to believe that those of us in fandom are bouncing back from The Saga of Paris Hilton; I was stunned to hear that Paris’ on again off again gal pal, Lindsay Lohan, has incited another media frenzy.

LiLo has fallen off the wagon.  I’m not surprised that she fell.  What surprises me is how soon and how hard she fell.  She's only been out of rehab for 11 days, but in one night has managed to add 5 new charges to her already tarnished driving record and further blemish her rapidly dissipating image and career.

Will Lohan bounce back?  What will happen to projects that she has in the works...will she be dropped?  With the new charges against her, will she face jail time?

  Can Lindsay be saved?
is the primary question on everyone’s lips.  The only thing Lindsay needs saving from is herself, and she has to want it.
